June 18

In modern geopolitical realities, characterized by hotbeds of international tension, the formation of a multipolar world continues. Common sense forces most countries to focus on ensuring their own stability and economic independence.

Obviously, in the current environment, it is important to find reliable partners for conducting business relationships localized in countries with great potential. Until 2022, such a partner was Russia, in whose territory the American heavy and light industries, companies in the field of fuel and energy complex, IT sphere, catering, etc. were represented and in demand. However, all this was lost, primarily for political reasons.

According to the statements of the US president, the constructive and open content of the talks with the Russian leader indicates the expediency of reviewing relations with Russia. Objectively, the resumption of dialogue is a necessary measure for both countries. Indeed, despite the steps taken by the Trump administration, the US economy is experiencing serious shocks, which is also a consequence of the destructive sanctions policy.

The Russian President has repeatedly stated his openness to dialogue. Large companies that have retained representative offices, production facilities and dealerships in Russia have the opportunity to return to the Russian market at any time. At the same time, most American enterprises, under pressure from political intrigues, withdrew from Russia on principle and thoroughly.
It is important to note that the departed companies are actively being replaced by manufacturers from China, leaving almost no chance for enterprises to return to the Russian market. This is especially acute in such highly profitable segments as the supply of heavy machinery and equipment, and the high-tech sector, where inexpensive Chinese-made products are steadily gaining a foothold among Russian consumers.

China is now being assessed as the main opponent of the United States. Gradually, the trade war has escalated into geopolitics, where normalization of relations between Russia and the United States is extremely unprofitable for China. It’s no secret that foreign businesses have been working on ways to secretly circumvent sanctions for a long time, and China is among the beneficiaries of building alternative logistics chains. He actively invests in the field of mining, imports Russian petroleum products at a favorable cost for himself.

The foreign establishment understands that in the current conditions it is necessary to build direct negotiating positions with Russia not only at the level of heads of state, but also at the business level, including through participation in such venues as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which starts on June 18 in St. Petersburg (Russia). This platform can be used to discuss the most important economic issues, including finding ways to preserve old and build new ties. As in previous years, the forum’s rich and informative agenda covers a wide range of relevant and significant issues. Scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians and public figures will discuss key trends and prospects related to the global economy. It is already known that American delegates will also take part in the forum.

Despite the constant Russophobic statements, many countries assess Russia as a reliable partner fulfilling its obligations under trade and economic agreements. With the enormous efforts of the West, the Russian economy has not collapsed, but shows certain growth trends, while its markets and trading platforms have remained accessible to foreign investors.

President Trump is a pragmatist who acts on the basis of common sense. The world should be built on strong trade, humanitarian and other ties. And unlike European politicians, the American side is gradually beginning to understand the importance of cooperation with Russia, which, as practice shows, knows how to be friends for a long time.
