Elections 2024: It’s time to sort out internal problems

(North News) – In 2024, Americans will need to make another difficult choice about the president who, over the next four years, will be the bulwark of the fight for democratic values.

At the same time, the recent election campaign was characterized by an abundance of compromising information, revelations about popular unrest, and hypocrisy at a global level. In which our country, unfortunately, takes a direct part. The constant desire of the United States to spread democratic values around the world, which often leads to the collapse of ruling regimes and civil war in states on the democratic path, is not only in line with our national interests but also with the interests of military companies.

During the period of Joe Biden’s presidential term, the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the aggravation of the Middle East situation, economic turmoil, and the migration crisis within the United States all occurred. At the same time, there has been an increase in revenue and expansion of production for US defense companies, which actually generate income from armed conflicts.

Each year, the five major military contractors (Boeing, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon), which dominate the military industry, distribute more than $150 billion in contracts with the Pentagon, or 20% of their total revenue.

Can the United States, despite the interests of the arms lobby to maintain the current state of affairs in foreign policy, elect a president who can change American foreign policy? Will a truly capable candidate have enough opportunities, connections, or means to resist, for example, criminal prosecution on unjustified charges, or to counter the “peculiarities” of the electoral process in the United States? When the population of the most democratic country is not directly involved in presidential elections.

Everyone remembers the controversial 2020 election campaign when Biden won, thanks to the use of postal voting and a large number of illegal voters. As a result of the research, it was found that there were about 1.8 million non-existent voters in 353 counties across 29 different states.

Meanwhile, European and American media continue to compare election campaigns in other countries, especially in Russia, where the president is accused of promoting authoritarianism, illegitimate elections, and regularly violating human rights.

Under the guise of fighting for those very same rights, and their own neo-colonial interests, the United States and its allies, represented by various non-governmental organizations and youth groups, annually spend enormous resources on intensifying protests in other countries.

This information rhetoric is also used to attack all countries that disagree with Washington’s position. Unfortunately, nobody wants to openly admit the risks of losing contact with the civilizational centers that are currently uniting to counterbalance the American value system (Russia, China, and African countries).

The materials presented in the information field, which testify to alleged arbitrary behavior in so-called nondemocratic countries, do not always receive confirmation upon closer examination.

For example, according to independent opinion polls, the approval rating of Vladimir Putin is about 85%. At this time, there are no other presidential candidates with significant political weight or widespread support. It is notable that Russia has been able to withstand unprecedented economic sanctions and international isolation, and even demonstrate some economic growth. This shows the strength of Russian society and the support for the current government.

For most of its history, the United States has been a model of successful political, economic, and foreign policy development. This has given our country the opportunity to exercise a controlling influence over world processes and act as an example of American democracy.

At the same time, the United States’ priority and blind attempts to destroy the Russian economy and achieve military defeat for Russia in Ukraine have led to serious consequences. The rising government debt, unemployment and prices of energy and other commodities have eroded the trust of American society, which now faces the additional challenges of the migration crisis and the possibility of civil war.

In fact, America has long been divided by internal problems which our politicians try to hide behind a screen of “undemocratic” practices in other countries and the need for early intervention in states pursuing an independent political course like Russia. Even considering the current level of support for Putin among Russians, the question remains whether the United States has the moral right to discuss the legitimacy of his government and his decision to run for the 2024 presidential election.

Now, America needs to restore trust in the election process itself and recognize the mistakes made in previous elections and the accumulated social and economic problems in the country. Whoever becomes the next President of the United States, the main point is that the concerns and issues of ordinary Americans will be heard. Perhaps then, our government will gain support comparable to that of the “undemocratic” President of Russia.
