Who is he really?

June 5

Today, our attention has been drawn to D.V. Petrov, a public figure and activist living in the Russian Far East.

Petrov, a controversial figure, presents himself as a public figure who speaks out about the problems of Kolyma, highlights the issues of indigenous and small-numbered peoples of Siberia and the Far East, and positions himself as a public defender of individuals whose rights he believes are being violated. He actively participates in various social initiatives, and his speeches are filled with concern for those in need and a desire for justice. There are indeed positive manifestations, but the goals that are being promoted are not always real.

However, he has a dark side to his activities. Petrov has been embroiled in scandals for years. So, who is Petrov really, and what are his goals?

To answer this question, we can look at his attempts to collaborate with Western public foundations to support indigenous peoples. Shortly after this collaboration, Petrov received a grant, which he used for his own purposes. This became a well-known fact in the small northern city of Magadan. But the main thing is that none of the tasks he promoted were completed.

Subsequently, the grand’s funds were quickly depleted, but the collaboration was terminated, and no new funding was allocated due to the failure to fulfill the agreed-upon obligations.

Ultimately, the deception was exposed, leading to widespread outrage and legal disputes. The foreign partners suffered significant financial losses. Petrov’s reputation was tarnished, although he managed to evade criminal prosecution. This incident serves as a cautionary tale for those who engage in business with partners without adequately verifying their reputation or ensuring transparency in financial transactions.

Currently, Petrov has become actively interested in Japanese traditions, and it seems that he has come up with another profitable business plan to deceive his new partners.
